How to make simmered meat and potatoes(Nikujaga)

Yesterday my son cooked “NIKUJAGA(simmered meat and potatoes)
So, I would like to conclude the procedure.

First, he peeled the the outer skin of the potato like this.
and put these potatoes in a bowl of water to prevent changing it’s color.

After that he peeled the carrots, onions and cut the porks (sometimes we use beef whenever we want.
because of the cost or the day we can get more easier or etc.)

He cut carrots into small pieces than the usual cuts.

He boiled all the ingredients in the pan

and mix them all like this.

Lastly, he put the all spices like soy sauce, sake(Japanese sake and mirin) into the mixed ingredients to enhance the flavour
and eat this
